Amarjit commenced his professional engineering career in the UK in 1980 as an instrumentation engineer, working on a number of new development projects for the oil and gas industry spending time on projects for Bechtel, Shell UK and as a Shell Expat, seconded to Woodside for the original North Rankin Reliability Upgrade Project undertaken by I&E Systems.
In 1995, Amarjit migrated to Australia and joined I&E Systems Pty Ltd as project manager managing the instrumentation and control system upgrade for Woodside’s Karratha onshore LNG gas plant (OISU project), 1996-2002 and subsequently project managed the South32 Worsley Alumina APM Project, 2003-2009, with project gaining recognition with a WA Engineering Excellence Award from Engineers Australia 2009.
As Principal Project Manager Amarjit continues to manage project portfolios for key clients and he is also member of the IES senior management team, responsible for strategy, managing resources, providing guidance on project delivery processes and acting as a sponsor for key clients.
