Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Dermot began in engineering during his time at the British Royal Navy, specialising in electrical engineering. During the late 70’s and into the 80’s working in Western Australia, Dermot gained a reputation for delivering complete complex projects operating as a solo engineer.
This experience combined with his reputation of delivery was the key to the successful completion of the Reliability Upgrade project for North Rankin A platform (Woodside) which achieved the Engineering Excellence Award from Engineers Australia in 1994. This was the first of many projects for Dermot’s newly formed I&E Systems.
Dermot continues to run I&E Systems with the principle of delivering the best outcomes for the client. Dermot is also driven to change the way we think about engineering and has for over 20 years been the visionary behind the DAD software package. With this product I&E Systems has delivered exceptional quality and time savings by simplifying and eliminating some of the complex information handling practices currently within the industry. At I&E Systems Dermot’s ethos is embraced and is one of the key factors to the success of some of the longest client-contract relationships in the industry.
